let me take a moment to introduce myself
I'm lisa liang.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist living in Orange County, CA.
I teach people how to prioritize and honor all parts of themselves, not just the "desirable" ones. We will work through parts people generally dismiss and ignore, such as anger, resentment, shame, and disgust, and learn how to embrace them gracefully. I'll teach you the skills to feel more at peace. My typical client is Asian American, a person of color, or LGBTQIA+ and struggles with setting and maintaining boundaries, speaking up for themselves, feelings of guilt and shame, an overwhelming sense of duty and responsibility to others, intergenerational trauma, and resentment from betraying themselves. Areas we would address are:

My goal is to be there as you cultivate a deeper, more loving connection with yourself while addressing patterns and issues that are holding you back as efficiently as possible.
As your therapist, I will be warm, empathetic, yet challenging and direct. In our work together, we will constantly look inward, self-reflect, and work towards accountability. You will rediscover your strengths, find beauty in your weaknesses, and find healthier ways to respond to life's difficulties that you are proud of. I will also encourage you out of your comfort zone to challenge old habits, and traditions, gaining a wider perspective. Uncomfortableness will arise. Rest assured, working through it is a sign of growth and we’ll sit in it together. I would be honored to be a part of your journey of self-discovery.
I hope you'll witness yourself feeling more empowered, confident, making decisions that align with your values and goals, becoming a more authentic version of yourself that might have been lost. As you work on yourself, you will notice your relationship with yourself and others evolving and changing. I hope to accompany you as you face your challenges with more self-love, grace, and hope.
Everything you seek is already inside you. All I’m doing is helping you remember.
